FOLLIES DUNMORE PINEAPPLE 0050A.JPG

Dunmore Pineapple, Falkirk, Scotland.<br />
The Pineapple was built in 1777 by John Murray, the 4th Earl of Dunmore, a former governor of Bermuda who resided in a part of the island chain well known for its pineapple plantations. It is said that he was so enamored by the fruit that he also grew pineapples at Dunmore, in glasshouses attached to the building that runs beneath the giant fruit.
