Photo shows a section of the 3-km-long conveyor belt used to transport rubble being used in a rebuilding project in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Atlas Copco drill rigs are a key feature of the project, which shifts blasted rubble from a nearby hillside to the central part of the city, which was flattened by the 2011 tsunami, to raise the land 10 meters. Just visible among the overgrowth in the foreground are the foundations of residences that formerly occupied the land. Rob Gilhooly Photo
