Three elderly women, each of whom previously has been homeless and jobless, watch TV in the communal room of a former hotel that has been converted into accommodation for homeless community who have passed mandatory retirement age in the Kamagasaki district of Osaka, Japan. Elderly homeless aged 65 and over are eligible for special governmental benefits that allows them to stay in relatively more comfortable accommodation than their under-65 counterparts, which, in the central Osaka district of Kamagasaki, costs around 42,000 yen (360 euro) a month and provides lodgers with communal bath and TV facilities and a 7 sq.-meter room -- barely big enough to fit a single bed and refrigerator. .Photographer: Robert Gilhooly
